Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified UGC-NET JRF or CSIR-UGC NET JRF
- Hold a Master’s degree in relevant discipline
- Indian nationality (studying in UGC-approved institutions)
- Must join within 6 months of result/joining letter
- Enrolment in M.Phil./Ph.D. within 2 years of joining
- No other salary/fellowship during tenure

Application Process
- Qualify the NET-JRF or CSIR-NET exam
- Apply to UGC-approved universities/institutes (based on their individual ads) within 6 months
- Gain admission & join full-time M.Phil./Ph.D. program
- Submit Joining Report and eligibility certificate to UGC
- Every 3 months, submit Continuation Certificate
- At 24 months, assessed by a departmental committee for SRF upgrade
- Annual progress reports + Research output requirement (e.g., publications, repository deposit)
Required documents include NET certificate, CV, research proposal, transcripts, recommendation letters, and admission proof.
