Program Overview!

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), under the aegis of SERB and DST, drives scientific excellence by supporting high-impact research across disciplines. It administers flagship programs like the J.C. Bose Fellowship to reward outstanding scientists, foster innovation, and build research capacity in Indian institutions.

Looking to elevate your research career in India? The prestigious J.C. Bose Fellowship offers senior scientists and engineers a powerful boost—providing a generous Rs 25,000/month bonus, a ₹15 lakh annual research grant, and up to 5 years of support. If you’re an active, high-performing researcher with top accolades (like the Shanti S. Bhatnagar Prize) and currently serving at an Indian institution, this could be your ideal next step.

The J.C. Bose Fellowship recognizes active Indian scientists and engineers with a consistently outstanding track record—evidenced by national awards, publications, and leadership. Intended to help them pursue frontier-level research without constraints, it supplements existing salaries with a fellowship and provides substantial research funding. Unique features include long-term support (5 + 5 years) and continuation post-retirement if a host institute agrees.
