The Bonn International Fellowships 2025 invites distinguished researchers from across disciplines to visit the University of Bonn for up to 12 days. Financial BenefitsÂ
The funding covers:
- A travel allowance for the fellow (depending on country of origin)
- An allowance of €160 per day for the fellow (up to 12 days including day of arrival and departure)
- Material expenses for events organized by the hosting institut (up to €500 per proposal), i.e.
- Catering costs (up to €50.00 per guest / €40.00 for university members)
- Funds for public relations and outreach activities

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to outstanding international researchers from any discipline
- Priority given to scholars from strategic partner universities and selected countries
- Applicants should demonstrate research excellence and the potential for future collaboration
- Must be nominated by a faculty member from the University of Bonn

Application Process
- The call opens on 29 May 2025.
- Obtain a nomination from a University of Bonn faculty member.
- Prepare a compelling research proposal aligned with the fellowship’s goals.
- Please ensure the complete application is submitted by 22 September 2025 (5:00 PM CET).
- Outcomes will be announced by early December 2025.
- Selected projects will begin on 1 January 2026 and must be completed by 31 December 2026.
