The Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellows Programme 2026 offers a fully funded opportunity to conduct research in Singapore at ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute. Dive deep into critical themes like US-China relations, Asia-Pacific security, regional economics, and digital influence. Gain direct exposure, share your findings, and become part of a prestigious scholarly network dedicated to policy-relevant research in Southeast Asia.

The Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellows Programme honors the legacy of Professor Wang Gungwu, former Chairman of ISEAS. This initiative supports early-career researchers and mid-career policymakers to undertake focused, high-impact research on Southeast Asia within themes such as US-China dynamics, regional security, economic cooperation, China’s influence, and digital diplomacy. Fellows will be hosted at ISEAS for 2 to 6 months, contributing to key publications and presenting their findings.

The ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute, based in Singapore, is a leading regional research center focused on socio-political, security, and economic trends in Southeast Asia. With a mission to generate policy-relevant insights and promote regional understanding, ISEAS hosts scholars and fellows from across the world to engage in groundbreaking research that shapes dialogue and strategy in the region.
